Beautiful facade

Prague’s history can be seen in the façades of its beautiful buildings which span back in time a thousand years. Nearly every European architectural style is represented here from Gothic and Baroque to Renaissance and Neo-Classical and later its own particular style of Art Nouveau. A good place to start exploring the city’s architectural history is the Old Town. Next, cross over the magnificent Charles Bridge to the Mala Strana area of the city. Highlights of the city’s architecture which are not to be missed include: the gothic Tyn Church, St. Jacob’s Church where royal weddings took place, Carolinum - the oldest University in Central Europe, the Art Nouveau Municipal House and the Powder Gate. Music lovers will enjoy the Estates Theatre, where Mozart performed his famous opera “Don Giovanni” in 1787.
